Did you ever wonder what the sudden appearance of hair in the ears means? Based on many studies conducted by scientists; unexpected appearance of hair in the ears is associated with heart disease, and that there is a thin line between heart attack and ear hair.
The background of this study is back in 1973 when Dr. Frank Sanders and his team published a study in the “New England Journal of Medicine”. Ear crease is what Dr. Frank had discovered, which today in his honor is called “Frank’s sign”. This sign indicates coronary artery disease. When congestion of the arteries happens then this disease occurs.
This same study for long years was a starting point for following researches. Guided by the same theory another team in 1984 made a new study.
Their study included 44 men and 20 women who had ear crease and hair and who were suffering from a heart attack. Richard Wagner from Boston, one of the scientists, said that; durable exposure to androgen, is causing clots in the arteries as a result of surplus creation of red blood cells.
In 1989, five years later, another test was carried out. This one inspected the relationship between the coronary diseases and the ruts on the ear cups. This study included 216 patients and determined that the disease growths with age.
In a recent study, scientists were observing a significant difference between men who have hair in their ears and those who didn’t.
The object of study were 500 autopsies witch found out that most of the patients had problems with the spleen, baldness, obesity, hair in the ears, ear creases etc.
Ear creases are related with heart disease in both women and men; although that the majority of sudden deaths were linked to men… Some experts point out to testosterone supplements that men are generally using; one of the main malefactors for the problems with the coronary disease.
