Many people develop a fungal infection, especially in the summer. This occurs more frequently on your toes, but it can appear on the hands also. The medical name for this type of disease is onychomycosis.
This type of infection is not serious, but it can be irritating and very difficult to be treated. The infection develops slowly and initially starts with discolored nails who later twist or thickens. Whether you ask for treatment, you may follow our advice on how to prevent it from getting worse.
Some of the things you can do to prevent this effect, you can do every single day:
- Keep your feet and hands clean and dry.
- Wear appropriate footwear made of natural materials, pure cotton socks, and make sure that your nails are shortened properly.
- Also, do not share towels and socks with other people, they should be regularly clean.
- Do not walk around barefoot in public pools, showers and locker rooms.
- Replace old shoes because they can be a source of infection.
However, if you have a problem with yeast infection, there are various natural remedies that can cure the infection within a month. For this you need these everyday ingredients:
Sodium bicarbonate is available in any kitchen and can be used in the treatment of fungal infections. It also helps neutralize the bad smell on your feet. Add half a cup of baking soda, one-quarter cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and half a cup of Epsom salt in 4 cups of hot water. Mix the ingredients, then add a quarter cup of vinegar. Soak the feet or toes that are affected by infection and hold them in the water for about 10 minutes. Wash with clean water and dry thoroughly. Repeat the process twice a day for a few weeks.
Yogurt is an excellent remedy for feet that are affected by infection. The fungus is most developed in the region between the nails and fingers and contains live bacteria ‘acidophilus’. Because of its natural characteristics, the yogurt may be used for this purpose.
Yogurt contains “friendly” microbes that destroy fungal infections. All you need to do is to dip your feet in yogurt or simply rub your feet and let it dry. In the end, just rinse your feet in cold water.
Another common ingredient may be hydrogen peroxide. If you dip your feet in a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water, you can prevent unpleasant fungal infection from spreading further. This compound is very effective cure for this disease.
Add 100 milliliters of 3% hydrogen peroxide in one liter of distilled water. Mix well and soak your feet for 20 minutes. Repeat the process every morning, while the infection does not go away.
Starch is the main ingredient in many antibacterial and antifungal medicinal oils. They have very powerful properties to absorb moisture and thus help in the treatment. You need half a teaspoon of cornstarch and a little hot water.
Stir this mixture, set the oven to 220 degrees and place it in the oven until it turns dark. Wash and dry your feet and then brush this mixture and let it sit for 1 minute. Finally rinse with warm water.
