I guess we can all agree about one thing; we can’t live without our smartphones, that’s for sure. Nowadays, we use our phones for everything, from checking the weather forecast to online chat with our friends.
But then again, you are about to hear not so great news and that is – your phone has a damaging effect to your general health condition.
Did you ever heard about cell radiation? The blue light that comes from your phone is in the center of this.
“Blue light is part of the full light spectrum, which means we’re exposed to it by the sun every day. However, nighttime exposure to that light, which is emitted at high levels by smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other LED screens, may be damaging your vision.
It also suppresses production of the hormone melatonin, which throws off your body’s natural sleep cues.”
The relation between smartphones and the below named health problems is been confirmed even by science:
The blue light is affecting your good night sleep. It also increases the risk of developing cancer, particularly prostate and breast cancer.
Your body has a natural weapon against cancer and that is melatonin; the blue light overwhelms it, and too much exposure to it can produce a perfect territory for the development of many health problems.
As previously said, the blue light disturbs the melatonin levels. For a normal sleep you need this hormone; and the lack of melatonin can cause unbalanced sleeping pattern. The following health problems come as a result:
- Cardiovascular complications
- Memory problems
- Premature aging
- Slow responding
The blue light harms your retina, and it can cause cataract and macular degeneration. Some 35-40 year-old patients have the same complications as elderly. This is due to their extreme use of smartphones. Still, scientists need to conduct additional researches to support this assertion.
Don’t stare in your smartphone before falling asleep!
